You should know what your money is actually doing
Most people end up with an advisor by default. Mill Creek is for people who would rather choose one on purpose.
The problem
Why people come to Tim
-
An advisor you did not choose
You opened an account at your branch, someone was assigned to you, and a few years later that person has moved on and you are explaining your situation from the beginning to somebody new.
-
Nobody holding the whole picture
Accounts in two or three places, a pension somewhere else, and no one looking at how they fit together or what they cost you.
-
Advice that answers to someone else
You do not know whether the advice you are getting is shaped by what the firm is selling that quarter.
Meet your guide
You should not have to guess about your own money
If any of that sounds familiar, it usually comes down to how the arrangement started. Most people never chose the one they are in. They inherited it, and it stopped fitting.
Tim Ternosky is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®). He runs Mill Creek Wealth Management as an independent practice, which means the plan comes first and clients keep the same advisor throughout.

What independent means
No parent bank, no product shelf
Mill Creek is independent. There is no parent bank, no in-house product shelf and no sales targets to meet. What you get instead is CFP®-level planning, CIM®-level investment management, and a long-term advisory relationship rather than transactional investment sales.
It also means one advisor rather than a rotating team. Tim builds the plan, manages the portfolio, and is the one you call.

How it works
The seven-step financial planning process
As a CFP® professional, Tim follows a structured, seven-step financial planning process with every client.
-
Establish and define the scope of the engagement
Before any planning starts, you and Tim agree on what the work covers, what each of you is responsible for, and what to expect from the relationship.
-
Gather information and set goals
Tim collects your financial details and the context around them, and helps you name and rank your goals.
-
Analyze and evaluate your current status
He looks at where you stand today and whether your current approach is enough to reach those goals.
-
Develop recommendations and create the plan
Tim builds strategies around your goals, aimed at the gaps the review turned up.
-
Present the financial plan
He walks you through the plan, including the assumptions behind it and the reason for each recommendation, so you can decide with the full picture.
-
Implement the plan
Together you put the recommendations you approve into action, and each step has a named owner.
-
Monitor and review
Tim tracks your progress and updates the plan when your life, your goals or the markets change.

What changes
The difference a plan makes
-
Without a plan
- Accounts in different places, doing different things.
- No one certain who is watching the whole picture.
- Decisions made on whatever the news is that week.
- “Where do we actually stand?” answered with a shrug.
-
With a plan
- One plan covering retirement, tax, estate, cash flow and risk.
- One advisor who already knows the history.
- Decisions made to a process, not a headline.
- A clear answer to where you stand, whenever you want it.
Client testimonials
What clients say
Sample quotes shown. Client quotes to follow.
-
We had accounts in three places and no idea how they fit together. Tim put it all into one plan and walked us through every piece of it.
Sarah and Mark Kingsville -
What I value is that it’s the same person every time I call. Tim knows our history, so we never start from scratch.
David R. Leamington -
I came in for a second opinion on my portfolio. He was straightforward about what it was costing me and whether it still matched what I needed, and there was no pressure either way.

What happens in the first meeting
An introductory meeting takes about 30 minutes. You leave with a clear view of your current position, what a plan would look like, and whether working together makes sense. There is no cost and no obligation either way.
